Las Vegas 2012

This was such a great trip!  We always love our trips to visit Kannon's aunt and uncle in Boulder City, NV.  We left early on Friday morning to start off our Labor Day weekend.  We went straight to the Lied Discovery Children's Museum and enjoyed some fun-filled hours there!

Playing store - this is my favorite and would have been greatly loved by me as a child - love to shop!

Creating gigantic bubbles!

This lady was great; she did some science experiments with baking soda, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide.  She let Ben and Sarah be her helpers.

We had to try out the wind tunnel.  Sarah's was the  best physical reaction!

The one million pennies!

Best part of any visit to Boulder City - time in Aunt Karen's pool!

I love that smile!

We took the kids down to see the Boulder Dam and the new bridge.  It was so hot and we all got a bit cranky.  But, we walked more than halfway across that bridge anyway.

We were advised to stop by a park in the city and check out the Big Horn Sheep.  We were so excited to see them milling about having some supper of grass.  The Big Horn Sheep is our school mascot and the kids were stoked to see them so close.

Okay, so I just have a really good zoom.  They weren't too close, but Ben was cool enough to capture a couple in his hand!

Before leaving the area we visited with my brother Nathan and his family and in-laws.  Always good to see them!

August 2012

The annual Country Fair.  Each year the kids make a quilt block.  The next year it is part of a quilt that is auctioned off to raise money for the fair.

Ben did not win a money prize for his cookies this year, but they were still delish!  They were chocolate with rolo's in the middle!  Kannon also entered some of his belt buckles, which lost the blue ribbon to someone's recycled garden art. Thpbt....

Swim lessons at the outdoor pool.  Josh's first year - he had a blast.  He truly is a water boy!

It's my blog so I can brag, I think all of my kids are talented swimmers!  I hope I can always give them opportunities to excel in that area.

Someone learned how to tie her shoes!  (at the time of posting this -over a year later!- she has forgotten how.  too many slip-ons!)

I got a new camera!  This was me trying out the settings - I had a willing group of subjects.

First day of school.  Sarah in first grade with Mrs. Loop and Benjamin starting 4th with Mrs. Antoniono.

This picture is a little out of order.  We had our end of summer party with a few friends.  We were able to "borrow" our friend Anne's beautiful swimming pool and have a great time in her large yard!

July 2012

Turning 3! Joshua had a great birthday. He got a monster truck, a hot wheels tub toy, a Little Blue Truck board book, bubbles (I hate bubbles, what was I thinking?!) water goggles, a bike and helmet, and a number puzzle from us. A bunny book and pool from Grammy and Papa. A hopper, nerf gun, and cars and a track from Grandma Polish. Ben and Sarah had a hard time letting him unwrap by himself. He was so cute, he lined each gift up on the piano and then rushed off for the next gift.

We made a fun monkey cake for our little monkey man!
